Penny Pagliaro wisely immigrated to Honolulu from the icy Midwest and launched a career in real estate after several years of teaching, academic counseling, writing and editing, honing her marketing skills at every step.
In 1980, she joined the staff of a major real estate development group in Honolulu and was soon named director of sales and marketing for the company’s luxury condominium and commercial real estate projects. In 1985, she formed her own commercial real estate company, serving as marketing consultant to developers and commercial property owners.
In 1995, she relocated to Hawaii’s Big Island and joined Clark Realty Corporation, taking over responsibility for all of the company’s marketing, including corporate positioning, branding, website development, local, statewide and national advertising and community support activities. Clark Realty Corporation soon became the largest independent real estate company in Hawaii.
In 2011, Pagliaro launched Panale‘a Corporation where she specializes in business strategies, graphic design, teamwork and innovative thinking.
Terry Nii is an award-winning art director and graphic designer who has been working in Hawaii since 1993. She specializes in corporate identity, advertising and communication pieces including logos, brochures, advertisements, catalogs and other collateral with an emphasis on real estate and retail marketing.
Clients include: Baywest Investments, Pacific Resort Realty, Crazy Shirts, Clark Realty Corporation, Honolulu Cookie Company, Hawaii Theatre, KITV4 Island Television, and University of Hawaii Federal Credit Union.

Alvis comes from a photographic family. His father, Augusts Upitis, was a Professional Photographers of America Master Photographer and his two uncles were photographers in their native Latvia. He has traveled and photographed extensively throughout 50 United States, Asia, British Isles, Europe, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Far East, South America.

Sarah’s visual awareness was sparked early through family ties to Hollywood. Her formal association with photography began in her high school darkroom and became her main creative outlet when her children were small. Then a workshop on Molokai in the early ‘90s with National Geographic photographer Rik Cooke provided both inspiration and affirmation for her passion.
In 2012, Sarah made photography her full time occupation, specializing in “people” photography. She quickly puts her clients at ease, a skill that allows her to make interesting, authentic and character-revealing photographs.
Sarah is also a much sought-after wedding and event photographer. She has been the staff photographer for the Hamakua Times since its inception in 1998, and she freelances for other publications. Her photographs of Dr. Earl Bakken, inventor of the pacemaker, appear in a recently published book, Dreaming On with Earl Bakken.
John is a creative professional with many years’ experience promoting businesses through print and interactive media. He served as User Experience Developer for United Missouri Bank (UMB) in Kansas City, Missouri, and currently serves as web developer for All Inbox . His expertise in directing and managing creative staff for digital projects, planning strategies and concepts for marketing and social networking, SEO/SEM services and web analytics makes him a key player on the Panale’a team. Needless to say, he keeps us on our toes with new technological tools and opportunities for our clients.
